    HOOSIERS STEAL ONE FROM BADGERS

    Madison, Wis.--The IU softball team (9-22-1, 3-9) grabbed one game of their double header today versus the Wisconsin Badgers (13-19-1, 4-4), winning game one 8-1, and losing game two 3-0.

    Indiana got off to a great start offensively scoring three runs in the second inning off three straight hits. With sophomores Teresa Martinez, Monica Zahasky, and Staci Meek around the bases, junior Khara Good doubled to right center picking up three RBI.

    Wisconsin scored one in the third, but could not do anymore. Indiana grabbed three more runs in the fourth off hits from senior Ashley Gayer, freshman Erica Del Toro, Martinez, and Good to make the score 6-1. For the obvious victory, IU scored two more in the sixth to win 8-1.

    Martinez gave up no earned runs and six hits while striking out two batters. She improves to 6-10. On offense, Martinez hit one of her best games of the season going 1-2 with two RBI and two runs.

    In game two, IU only managed to get two hits and could not score. Freshman pitcher Jennifer Kniptash took her 11th loss of the season allowing eight hits and three runs. Ashley Gayer had both hits for the Hoosiers going 2-3.

    Indiana will be back in Wisconsin tomorrow with a single game against the Badgers. Action gets underway at 1 p.m.
