    INDIANA SPLITS A DOUBLEHEADER WITH BALL STATE

    MUNCIE, Ind. - The Indiana Softball team split a double-header with Ball State winning 2-1 in game one and losing 4-1 in game two. Indiana is now 12-25 overall.

    In game one, Indiana defeated Ball State 2-1 with five hits and no errors. The Hoosiers scored one run in the second inning when Sheri Savko lead off the inning with a triple. Lisa Mattke then tripled to right field binging in Savko. In the sixth inning, Brooke Monroe double to right field and scored off a double from Stormy Hanson. Teresa Martinez picked up the win for the Hoosiers and improves to 5-12 on the season.

    In game two, Indiana struggled offensively scoring only one run. In the top of the seventh, Lauren Hendrix hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in Jessica Carriger from third base. Hendrix went 2-for-3 for the game with one RBI. Jen Smith took the loss at the mound and drops to 1-4 on the season.

    The Hoosiers will host four games this weekend as they play a double-header with Iowa at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14 at the IU Softball Field. The Hoosiers will then play Northwestern on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m.
