HOOSIERS LOSE A CLOSE ONE TO WISCONSIN

Madison, Wis.--The Indiana softball team dropped a close game to Wisconsin today 2-1. As a result, Indiana's record falls to 9-23-1 overall and 3-10 in Big Ten play.

The game was even balance. Indiana had four hits while Wisconsin had five. The difference came with just one run.

Indiana scored first in the third inning off a home run by senior Monica Armendarez. With the homer, Armendarez still has consecutively hit at least one home run in every Big Ten series. She has nine on the season.

Wisconsin battled back in the third scoring two runs off three hits. This was the ball game as either team could score anymore.

Offensively, IU was led by Armendarez who went 2-3 with a run and a RBI. Khara Good and Ashley Gayer had the other two hits for the Hoosiers.

Sophomore Teresa Martinez pitched a complete game giving up two earned runs, three walks and five hits. Her record goes to 6-11.

Indiana will be back in action on Tuesday, April 14 at 1 p.m. The Hoosiers will face Notre Dame at the IU Softball Field.
