    IU Set For Trip To No. 16/19 Mizzou

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana hits the road for a doubleheader at No. 16/19 Missouri on Wednesday, April 20. It will be the Hoosiers fourth straight ranked opponent and, overall, the Cream and Crimsons' 12th and 13th games this season against a top 25 program.     SCOUTING MISSOURI
    Missouri is 32-8 on the year and 6-5 in the Big 12 conference. Last weekend, the Tigers split a two-game series with then No. 4/4 Texas, taking game one 3-2, before dropping the series finale, 1- 0. MU has also won five of their last seven games.

    Missouri features seven hitters who are batting over .300 and, overall, are hitting .3-8 as a team. Redshirt freshman Micaela Minner tops the team in average (.418), home runs (13), RBI (44) and walks (21) and is second with 36 runs scored. Senior Heather Kunkel is hitting .367 with 12 home runs, 42 RBI and 28 runs scored, while sophomore Leanne Bowers sports a .355 batting average, 41 runs scored and is a perfect 11-for-11 on the basepaths. As a team, MU has blasted 54 long balls, 14 triples and is 32-for-45 in stolen bases.

    Three pitchers make up a staff that has a 1.34 ERA for the year. Sophomore Erica Peterson is the ace of the staff with a 15-2 record and a 1.01 ERA. She has seen action in 36 games with 16 starts, compiling 111 1/3 innings. The right-hander has let up just 62 hits and 32 walks on the season against 141 strikeouts. Freshman Jen Bruck (13-2, 1.39) has made 27 appearances with 16 starts, totaling 90 1/3 innings. The St. Peters, Mo., native has allowed 69 hits and 28 walks while fanning 84. Senior Erin Kalka (4-4, 2.11) has worked 59 2/3 innings in her 16 appearances in the circle. Kalka has permitted 546 hits, while sports an impressive 3-1 strikeout-walk ratio of 59 punchouts to 18 walks.

    Missouri leads the all-time series 10-5. The last times the two teams met was in 2001, when the Tigers swept a doubleheader, 7-0 and 4-2, in their own Missouri Tournament.

    Indiana gets back into conference play with a Friday-Saturday (April 22-23) series against Minnesota. Friday's action starts at 4 p.m., while Saturday's game gets underway at noon. Then on Sunday, April 24, the Hoosiers host the Wisconsin Badgers in a doubleheader. Game time is slated for noon.
    WHAT A SCHEDULE
    Indiana has played four straight ranked opponents and eight straight games against ranked teams. For the season, IU has played eight teams and 13 games against top 25 programs.

    YAMAGUCHI MOVING UP
    Redshirt sophomore now has 17 career home runs and is in sixth place on Indiana's all-time list. Next up for the Woodland Hills, Calif., native is former Hoosier standout and current assistant coach Stormy Hanson, who has 21 career long balls.
