April 24, 1999 HOOSIERS DROP A PAIR AT MINNESOTA
Minneapolis, Minnesota -- The Indiana Softball team lost a pair at Minnesota Saturday.
In the first game, the Hoosiers (17-31, 3-12 Big Ten) allowed all nine Gopher runs in the third and fourth innings in the 9-1 loss.
In game two, Minnesota (35-15) scored three runs in the top of the sixth to get the 6-3 win. IU scored two runs in the first on RBI singles by juniors Sheri Savko and Monica Zahasky. Freshman Brooke Monroe added the Hoosiers final run with a solo shot in the third. It was Monroe's fifth of the season and first during Big Ten play.
The Hoosiers conclude the series at Minnesota with a single game Sunday at 1 p.m.
