    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -

The Indiana Hoosiers (9-34-, 3-11 Big Ten) travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Wednesday to take on No. 8 Michigan Wolverines (34-9, 10-2 Big Ten) at the Wilpon Softball Complex.  Indiana is coming off of a weekend sweep at the hands of No. 24 Iowa while the Wolverines picked up a two-game sweep on the road against Wisconsin.

    THE LAST TIME

Last season, Michigan paid a visit to the IU Softball Field and came away with a pair of eight-run victories, 10-2 and 8-0.  In the first game, Indiana's Emily Bergeson hit a solo home run off Nikki Nemitz and scored both IU runs.
Michigan leads the all-time series, 63-26 and have won the last 29 meetings dating back to 1997.  The last IU win came in 1996.

    PITCHER'S PITCH
Senior Ashley Hobbs and sophomore Sara Olson have been on a roll in the circle for Indiana prior to last weekend's series with No. 24 Iowa.  Over the previous nine games, the Hoosiers  had won four games and the two had combined for a 2.08 ERA, almost half of what their overall season ERA was (4.04).  Included in that is a no-hitter from Olson, a 15 strikeout performance and one-hit game from Hobbs.  Olson was holding opponents to a .177 batting average and a 1.33 ERA of her own.

    MAGIC NUMBER 15
Ashley Hobbs etched her name into the record books at Indiana with a 15 strikeout performance in game two at Michigan State.  The senior from Brownsburg, Ind., had 22 strikeouts in 61.1 innings coming into the game but went all eight innings to pick up her second win of the season as well.
The 15 K's puts her in a tie for eighth place on the all-time single-game strikeouts list at Indiana, matching Amy Unterbrink's effort on May 2, 1986 against Illinois State.

    UPCOMING MILESTONES
Here are a look at some of the statistical milestones that a few Indiana players are coming up on as season starts to head towards the homestretch:
    * Sara Olson needs 1 strikeout for 150 career
    * Emily Bergeson needs 3 hits for 200 career and 7 more walks to tie for fifth all-time at IU
    * Michelle Gardner needs 4 more wins for 200
