    HOOSIERS SWEPT BY PENN STATE

    Bloomington, Ind. -- Indiana's softball team was swept by Penn State in a double header Saturday afternoon, losing at the IU Softball Complex 5-3 and 12-0.

    With Saturday's two losses, the Hoosiers have now dropped 12-straight games, falling to 17-34 overall and 2-15 in Big Ten play. Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions improve to 31-19 overall, 12-8 in the Big Ten.

    In the first game, the Hoosiers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the sixth, but fell 5-3. IU's Sheri Savko hit RBI triples in both the first and the sixth innings also scoring in the sixth.

    In game two, freshman Brooke Monroe extended her hitting streak to six games in the Hoosiers 12-0 loss.

    The Hoosiers play their final home game of the season Sunday, hosting Penn State at 1 p.m., at the IU Softball Complex.
