Softball Signee Receives All-Region Accolades

STARKVILLE, Miss. - This year, 159 student-athletes from 92 high schools spanning 28 states have earned the distinguished honor of being named to one of 10 2012 Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All-Region teams. One of those honorees was Katie Bosler (Carmel, Ind/Carmel High School), who will be a freshman on the Indiana University softball team this fall.
All players who were selected to one of the five first teams in their respective region are now eligible to be named as either a 2012 NFCA First-Team, Second-Team or Honorable Mention High School All-American. The 2012 NFCA High School All-American teams will be announced on Tuesday, June 26 on NFCA.org. Click here for the complete list of all-region honorees.
Bosler led Carmel to a state title as a junior and an appearance in semistate as a senior. As the leadoff hitter, she posted a .533 batting average with nine doubles, seven triples and two home runs to go with 24 RBI. She was named the Hamilton County Sports Daily Player of the Year and All Mid-Indiana Conference (MIC) while also garnering honorable mention Academic All-State honors.
