Sept. 1, 1999 COACH STEPHENSON ANNOUNCES NEW ASSISTANT COACH
Indiana women's softball coach Diane Stephenson announced today the hiring of Jen McIntyre as assistant coach. McIntyre takes over the position from Julie Moss who is now the head coach at San Francisco State.
McIntyre, a native of Richmond, VA, spent the last year as an Intern in the Sports Marketing and Promotions office at Penn State University. Prior to that, she earned her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology while playing 3rd base for the Nittany Lions all four years. As a player, she earned GTE Academic All-American honors her senior year and led Penn State in hitting during her junior year.
McIntyre will be pursuing her masters degree in Sport Management while conducting her coaching duties with the Hoosiers.
"I'm really excited to be at Indiana University," McIntyre said. "The Big Ten Conference is one of the top conferences in the nation, and Indiana has one of the top programs in that conference."
"We're very excited to have Jen," said Diane Stephenson. "We
are definitely excited to have a young person come back to our program.
Julie Moss came to us as a student athlete right out of college and turned
into a really fine head coach. We hope to develop Jen in the same way.
She brings a lot of energy and she's really looking forward to being a
part of the Hoosier staff."
