    SOFTBALL BEGINS FALL SCHEDULE IN THE NIC TOURNAMENT

    Game Data: The Indiana University softball team will begin their fall schedule at the 12th annual National Invitational Championship hosted by Western Illinois University. The Tournament will be held at the Green Valley Softball Complex in Moline, IL. Tournament play begins on Friday, September 24 and will continue through Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26. The Hoosiers will play Illinois State at 11:00 a.m. Friday and will play a second game at 1:00 p.m. versus Iowa State. Saturday's and Sunday's game times will depend on each teams' performance during Friday's games.

    The Coaches: Diane Stephenson begins her 13th season as the Indiana head coach, with winning records in seven of her 12 seasons. Stephenson has accumulated a 358-303-3 career record, including a 150-149 (.502) record in Big Ten play. Her team made the NCAA Mideast Regional in 1994 and finished with a record of 49-16.
