    After playing a pivotal role in the Hoosiers' first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 10 years, senior captain Rachel Terry sat down with IUHOOSIERS.com to answer 10 questions about herself, IU softball and the upcoming 2007 campaign.

    Terry closed the 2006 slate with the team's third-best batting average, hitting at a .299 clip. The 5-10 infielder recorded 46 hits last season, including four homeruns.

    What are you most looking forward to this upcoming season?
    "I really want to win a lot of games. As a team, we want to come together and make the Big Ten Tournament and then the NCAA Tournament. Overall, we want to be considered a powerhouse in the region."

    Why did you choose your number?
    "I chose nine because 19 was taken."

    Who is the teammate or coach you admire the most?
    "Kim Richards. She always gives 100 percent in everything she does. We also feed off of each other when it comes to doing well."

    Outside of sports, who has been the biggest influence in your life?
    "My mom. She is a true fighter and the epitome of what a woman, a friend and mother should be."

    Place you would most like to travel?
    "I would love to visit Israel because I think the history is fantastic and the faith there is amazing."

    Favorite quote?
    "No one ever says `it's only a game' when they are winning." This quote is very true!"

    Most memorable IU softball moment?
    "Last year when the team found out we made the NCAA Tournament."

    What IU sport, other than softball, would you want to play and why?
    "I used to play volleyball in high school, so definitely volleyball."

    Pre-game rituals/superstitions:
    "I always warm up with Kim [Richards] and I have to drink a can of Pepsi."

    One word that describes Indiana Softball:
    "Intense"
