Women Split with Kentucky, Tennessee in Double Dual Meet

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's swimming and diving team posted a 199-95 win over Kentucky, but fell short against No. 8 Tennessee, 171-123 in a double dual meet at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center this afternoon.
Lindsay Vrooman continued her dominance in the distance free, taking the 1,000 free in 9:38.83. Stephanie Marchuk was sixth at 10:13.15. Haley Lips placed second in the 200 free at 1:47.96. Vrooman was fourth in 1:49.01.
The Hoosiers went 1-3 in the 100 backstroke with Snodgrass winning in an NCAA provisional time of 54.60. Allie Day was third in 56.36. Pasloski took second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.99, an NCAA B cut. Dorina Szekeres was sixth at 1:06.53.
Olivia Barker went a season-best 1:58.88 (NCAA B cut) to finish second in the 200 butterfly, while Gia Dalesandro was fifth at 2:00.59. Cynthia Pammett was the top Hoosier in the 50 freestyle at fourth (23.70), and Audrey Scott was eighth (25.19).
Pammett touched third in the 100 free (51.17) and Lips fifth (51.46). Snodgrass cruised to an easy win in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:57.92 (NCAA B cut). Day was fourth in 2:02.02.
Pasloski finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.07), followed by Szekeres in fourth (2:22.69). Blaine Nichols was fourth (2:07.38). Vrooman added a win in the 500 free to her collection, clocking in at 4:42.95 (NCAA B cut). Lips was fourth in 4:54.98.
Dalesandro took second in the 100 fly (53.32-NCAA B cut), Barker was fourth in 55.42. Dalesandro led a 2-3 IU finish in the 200 IM, going 2:04.21, with Szekeres third (2:04.66). Pasloski was fourth at 2:04.99.
Kate Hillman took second on the 3-meter springboard with 286.00 points. She took third on the 1-meter with a score of 248.05.
The meet ended with the 400 free relay as Pammett, Snodgrass, Stephanie Armstrong and Lips took second in 3:24.99.
