    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's and women's swimming and diving teams are back in competition this weekend for the first time in 2014 as they travel to Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 18 to face the host Hawkeyes, Missouri Tigers and Illinois Fighting Illini (women only).

    Latest CSCAA Rankings
    In the most recent College Swimming Coaches Association of America rankings, the Hoosier men came in at No. 16, with Missouri ranked seventh and Iowa 21st. On the women's side, IU is ranked 11th, with Missouri 21st.


    The Last Time Out...
    The Hoosiers last competed as a team at the USA Swimming Winter Nationals in Knoxville, Tenn. in early December. Highlights of that meet included a silver medal for senior Lindsay Vrooman in the 1,650 freestyle, as she posted an NCAA A cut and the third-fastest time in IU history at 15:54.68. Sophomore Brooklynn Snodgrass took third in the 200 backstroke, picking up her NCAA automatic qualifying time with a season best 1:52.64.

    Other top-eight finishers in Knoxville included junior Cynthia Pammett in the 200 back (seventh), Eric Ress in the 200 back (fourth), James Wells in the 100 back (eighth) and Bronwyn Pasloski (sixth) and Cody Miller (sixth) in the 200 breaststroke. Pasloski also added a fifth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke.

     

     

    Senior Brenna MacLean posted the fifth-fastest time in school history in the 200 fly, placing fourth in 1:55.82. Freshman Gia Dalesandro was sixth, to go along with a sixth-place finish in the 100 butterfly. Senior Dorina Szekeres, the defending Big Ten Champion in the 400 individual medley, placed seventh in the event at Nationals.
