BARCELONA, Spain - Former Indiana University diver Amy Cozad just missed out on a spot in the platform final, placing 14th in the semifinals at the FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.

Cozad finished with 294.00 points in the semifinal round for 14th place. The top 12 finishers in the semifinal advanced to Thursday's final. Cozad was fifth after prelims, posting a score of 325.20, scoring 70 or more points on three of her dives.

"Usually I'm really bad in prelims, and my goal was to break that tradition," Cozad told USA Diving. "I did it, but I think I got too comfortable. I proved to myself that I could do it, and then I thought it's not going to be that hard to do it again in semis," Cozad said. "I didn't put the same pressure on myself in the semis, but no matter what, (coach Jeff) Huber is proud of me, and that's what matters."
