BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Hoosiers posted a total of six top-10 finishes on day four of USA Swimming's U.S. Open Friday night at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.

Junior Cody Miller was second among collegians and third overall in the 100-meter breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:01.11. Miller has all but cemented himself a spot at the 2013 World University Games, also finishing second among collegiate swimmers in the 200-meter breaststroke.

Senior Jim Barbiere took fifth in the 100-meter freestyle, touching the wall in 1:50.74. That bettered his time of 1:50.93 from prelims. Sophomore Steve Schmuhl was 18th with a time of 1:51.19.

In the consolation final of the 100-meter breaststroke, senior Ashley Specht placed second, good for 10th overall (1:09.95).

Former NCAA Champion Kate Fesenko won the consolation final and finished 10th overall in the 100-meter backstroke with her time of 1:01.95. Junior James Wells finished eighth in the men's race (55.47), while junior Eric Ress was 10th (55.78).

Competition concludes tomorrow.
