BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber and assistant coach John Wingfield were honored this past Saturday at the United States Aquatic Sports awards banquet in Greensboro, N.C.

For the fifth-consecutive year and the 12th time in his career, Huber was given the Mike Peppe Award, presented to the outstanding senior diving coach. Indiana Diving won the overall team title at the AT&T National Diving Championships in August.

Wingfield was presented with the Glenn McCormick Award, which is given to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the sport of diving. Until recently accepting a position as assistant diving coach at IU, Wingfield had served as director and head coach of USA Diving's National Training Center. He also spent 10 years coaching at Ball State University prior to moving to Indianapolis in 1998.

Wingfield served as the coach of USA Diving's Regional Training Center until 2005, when Indianapolis became the home of the National Training Center and he became director and associate head coach. Wingfield has coached at many international diving events, most notably when he served as head coach of the 2008 Olympic Team. He will serve on the coaching staff at next month's FINA World Junior Championships.
