    Swim and Dive Plays Host To Tennessee, Kentucky Friday Afternoon

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 9 Indiana men and No. 10 Indiana women swimming and diving teams will take on the Tennessee Volunteers and Kentucky Wildcats Friday afternoon in a dual meet at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington.

    Diving events get underway at 1 p.m. ET, with the swimming schedule starting at 2 p.m. ET. Admission is free. Live swimming results will be available at IUHoosiers.com, while diving results can be followed live at DiveMeets.com.

    The Tennessee men and women are both ranked eighth in the most recent College Swimming Coaches Association of America top 25, while the Kentucky men are receiving votes in the poll.

    The Hoosier women are coming off a split last weekend, soundly defeating Big Ten foe Michigan (181-119) and falling 17 points short of Texas, to move to 2-2 on the dual meet season. Senior Lindsay Vrooman remains undefeated in the distance free events, winning the 500 free and 1,000 free against the Wolverines and Longhorns to earn Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors. Freshman Olivia Barker posted an NCAA B cut in winning the 200 butterfly, earning her Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.

    The IU men are 0-4 on the season but can lay claim to having swum four of the top-five teams in the nation this fall, swimming dual meets with No. 1 Texas, No. 3 California, No. 4 Texas and No. 5 Stanford.

    James Wells and Eric Ress went 2-3 in the 100 backstroke last weekend, while Cody Miller took second in the 100 breaststroke. Ress was also second in the 200 backstroke and Miller third in the 200 breaststroke.



    Diver Darian Schmidt cracked 400 points for the first time this season, wining the 3-meter springboard with a score of 400.45. He also placed third in the 1-meter springboard, tallying 356.25 points.
