Julie Grubbs is in her third year at Indiana as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, working primarily with the women's tennis, women's golf, women's soccer and men's and women's track and field.
Prior to arriving at IU, Grubbs worked as a graduate assistant overseeing the men and women's cross country teams at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. Grubbs also assisted with design and implementation of workouts for all other sports, including women's volleyball, men's golf, men basketball, women's basketball, soccer and tennis. While at Marquette, Grubbs managed the collegiate internship program and pursued a master's degree in educational leadership.
The Memphis, Tenn., native earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science at Asbury College. Grubbs was a member of the women's basketball team and sat on the intramural council. She also served as a student assistant strength coach for the Asbury men's basketball team.
As an undergraduate student, Grubbs interned with the University of Tennessee Lady Vols' strength and conditioning program and served as a performance coach at both St. Mary's Fitness and the High Intensity Training Centers.
Grubbs holds both the NSCA-CPT and CSCS certifications.
