Indiana Takes Down Miami (OH) and Butler

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 39 Indiana women's tennis team defeated Miami (OH) and Butler in a double-header at the IU Tennis Center on Saturday. The Hoosiers won both matches by a 7-0 margin.
In doubles in the Miami (OH) match, Alecia Kauss and Shannon Murdy of Indiana (6-1) got the ball rolling with a smooth 6-2 win over Christiana Raymond and Ramona Costea in the No. 3 matchup. The No. 2 pairing of Sophie Garre and Kayla Fujimoto then clinched the doubles point for IU with a 6-1 victory over Andreea Badileanu and Ana Rajkovic. Indiana's No. 1 doubles team of Katie Klyczek and Carolyn Chupa grinded out a 7-5 win over Christine Guerrazzi and Nimisha Mohan to give the Hoosiers a sweep in doubles.
Klyczek was the first to win a singles match for the Hoosiers, cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Raymond at No. 1. Murdy's 6-0, 6-2 topping of Rajkovic gave Indiana a 3-0 lead and Kauss would soon clinch the match for the Hoosiers with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Guerrazzi at No. 3.
Against Butler in doubles, the Hoosiers' No. 2 tandem comprised of Klyczek and Gabrielle Rubenstein was the first to scratch into the win column as they defeated Grace Hyde and Konstantina Adami, 6-0. A 6-2 win from Indiana's No. 1 pairing of Kauss and Murdy over Butler's Kailey Eaton and Stephanie McLoughlin clinched the doubles point for Indiana.
Murdy was first to add a point in singles with a strong 6-0, 6-1 victory over Eaton at No. 3. Rubenstein followed at No. 4 with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Qin and Mary Beth King clinched the team win for the Hoosiers with a decisive 6-0, 6-2 win over Jocelyn Koester in the No. 6 position.
The Hoosiers will next play on Sunday, Feb. 16 against Kentucky in Bloomington at 11 a.m. ET.
