"With such a young team, the more matches you play the better," said Head Coach Lin Loring. "It was nice that everybody had at least one tough set today. That will help us get ready for next weekend."

Sunday began with IU cruising to the doubles point against Marquette, winning by scores of 8-5, 8-1 and 8-1. Alba Berdala (No. 1 singles), Sigrid Fischer (No. 4), Charlotte Martin (No. 3), Brianna Williams (No. 6) and Katya Zapadalova (No.2) all won in straight sets to put the Hoosiers up 6-0. Lindsey Stuckey then capped off the sweep with a tie-breaker in the second set to force a third frame; where she earned a 10-7 win in the 10-point tie-breaker.

"Marquette was able to hang around for a bit, just as we had expected," said Coach Loring. "Fortunately, we were able to hold them off and come away with the win."

Next up were the Eagles of Morehead State in the 3 p.m. match. The No. 2 and No. 3 IU doubles teams did not lose a game, each rolling to 8-0 victories. Berdala and Zapadalova, the No. 1 doubles tandem, also won their match, 8-4.

The singles competition was all Hoosiers. In the No. 2 through No. 6 singles matches, Indiana allowed the Eagles to only win a total of five games. Berdala won as well at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 7-5.

Indiana will host another doubleheader inside the IU Tennis Complex next Sunday when No. 21 Tennessee and Ball State come to town.
