SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The No. 74 Indiana women's tennis team fell on the road to No. 23 Notre Dame on Friday afternoon, 6-1.
The Fighting Irish had a fast start, sweeping the doubles point right out of the gate. After an ND win at No. 4, No. 39 Shannon Mathews of Notre Dame clinched the match for the home team with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over IU's Leslie Hureau.
Kayla Fujimoto, playing in the No. 6 singles position for the Hoosiers, earned a win to close out the match. The sophomore rebounded after dropping the first set to top Katherine White of the Irish, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-3).
