BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 66 Hoosiers won both sides of a double-header on Sunday afternoon in Bloomington. IU topped Marquette, 6-1, to begin the day, then topped Cleveland State in the nightcap, 6-1.

To begin the day, Indiana dominated in doubles play against Marquette. Kayla Fujimoto and Evgeniya Vertesheva routed MU's Ana Pimienta and Rocio Diaz to get things started at No. 2, 8-1. Leslie Hureau and Alecia Kauss clinched the doubles point for the Hoosiers with an 8-3 win at No. 3, and just seconds later, IU's Sophie Garre and Katie Klyczek made it a doubles sweep with an 8-4 triumph at No. 1.

In singles against the Golden Eagles, IU continued its good play. Hureau put the second team point on the board with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Gillian Hush at No. 1. Marquette tallied the next team point with a win at No. 2, before Indiana's Carolyn Chupa shut the door on Ali Dawson in the No. 3 match, 7-5, 6-0. Sophie Garre then claimed the match for the Hoosiers with her 6-3, 6-3 win playing in the No. 6 position. Indiana picked up its final two wins from Kayla Fujimoto at No. 5 and Alecia Kauss at No. 4.

In the Cleveland State match, Indiana once again swept all three matches, including an 8-0 victory at No. 2 by Hureau and Kauss.

In singles, Hureau once again dominated the No. 1 match with a straight set win over Catrine Bjerrehus, 6-0, 6-2. Klyczek gave up just one game in her No. 2 singles win over Maria Lazaris, 6-1, 6-0. Kauss then clinched it for IU with her win at No. 4, 6-0, 6-2. Garre also picked up a win at No. 5 and Chupa added one at No. 3.

"Although we had a few mental lapses today, I thought our doubles play showed improvement," head coach Lin Loring said. "We still have a lot of things to work on, but overall we are getting better. I was happy we were able to play eight different players today. It was a good team effort, everyone contributed to these two victories."

The Hoosiers will open Big Ten play against Purdue on Friday, March 9. That match will begin at 1:30 p.m. ET in Bloomington.
