CLEMSON, S.C. - No. 41 Indiana women's tennis fell short to No. 19 Vanderbilt in the opening round of NCAA Tournament play on Friday, 4-0. The defeat ends IU's 2012-13 season.
In doubles, Indiana (18-10) hung tight with Vanderbilt (16-11) early in all three matches. The Hoosier doubles tandems at No. 2 and No. 3 trailed by a slim 5-4 margin in both of those matches. But the Commodores caught fire at both positions to win the final three games to win by 8-4 margins in each the No. 2 and No. 3 match to take the doubles point to start.

Indiana's Sophie Garre bounced back from a first set loss to force a third set in the No. 5 position against Vanderbilt's Ashleigh Antal. But it was Antal who would win the deciding final set, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2, to give the Commodores their third team point.
