    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The 2007 Hoosier Classic women's tennis tournament came to an end Sunday with the completion of the doubles play. Freshman Maria Guerreiro won all four of her doubles matches over the weekend.

    Indiana excelled in singles play, winning three of the six singles flights on Saturday. Juniors Alba Berdala, Sigrid Fischer and Stephanie Heller each captured their respective flight championships by winning three straight matches. Senior Brianna Williams also reached her flight final before dropping a tough one, earning second place.

    Alba Berdala - 3-0 in singles, 2-2 in doubles
    Erin Clark - 1-2 in singles, 2-1 in doubles
    Sigrid Fischer - 3-0 in singles, 1-1 in doubles
    Maria Guerreiro - 1-2 in singles, 4-0 in doubles
    Stephanie Heller - 3-0 in singles, 3-1 in doubles
    Charlotte Martin - 2-1 in singles, 3-0 in doubles
    Myriam Sopel - 1-2 in singles, 3-1 in doubles
    Lindsey Stuckey - 1-2 in singles, 2-2 in doubles
    Brianna Williams - 2-1 in singles, 3-1 in doubles
    Kate Zapadalova - 1-2 in singles, 3-1 in doubles

     

     

    The Hoosiers will next compete at the Vanderbilt Tournament from Oct. 19-21.
