BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie hosted a luncheon at the Bryan House on Friday, Jan. 21, to honor the women's tennis team for earning the Herbert Cup trophy for the 2010 spring semester. The Herbert Cup is given each semester to the IU athletic program with the highest team GPA.

Along with the members of the team and President and Mrs. McRobbie, attendees also included Head Coach Lin Loring, Associate Head Coach Ramiro Azcui, Director of Athletics Fred Glass, IU Senior Associate Athletic Director Chris Reynolds, Associate Athletic Director M. Grace Calhoun, Assistant Athletic Director Kelly Noonan, Director of Retention and Learning Services Scott Maxwell and women's tennis Administrative Assistant Lorie Canada.

"The team thoroughly enjoyed their luncheon with the President at the Bryan House," Loring said. "President McRobbie and Mrs. McRobbie interacted with all the players and made them feel very welcome. The conversation was lively and the team represented themselves and the athletic department extremely well. We had a really nice time."

The Indiana women's tennis team has won the Herbert Cup six consecutive semesters. The Hoosiers compiled an overall team GPA of over 3.50 during the 2010 spring semester. Five players also earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for that semester.
