BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's tennis team continues to excel in the classroom and once again earned the Herbert Cup for the 2012 fall semester. The award is given out each semester to the Hoosier athletic program with the highest GPA for that particular semester.

The IU women's tennis program has won the cup in 10 of the 11 semesters in which the award has been given, including the last four semesters consecutively. For the fall semester only, the team finished with an impressive collective GPA of 3.69.

Indiana University President, Michael A. McRobbie, hosted the team for a celebratory dinner in their honor on Jan. 23. The team will be recognized publicly on Saturday, March 2, during the Indiana vs. Iowa men's basketball game in Assembly Hall.

"The team is very excited to once again win the Herbert Cup. We had a wonderful dinner with President and Mrs. McRobbie." head coach Lin Loring said. "I am especially pleased because we have so many players in the Kelley School of Business and the sciences. They are not taking easy majors."
