    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Five members of the Indiana women's tennis team were named to IU Athletics' Alpha Beta Honorary, the Hoosier athletic department announced today. In order to earn Alpha Beta recognition, student-athletes must earn a minimum 3.0 grade point average for the most recent academic semester.

    Sophomores Laura McGaffigan, Cecile Perton, and Kara Zeder, along with freshman Nicole Hein and Brianna Williams garnered the honor.

    In Greek, alpha and beta are the first and second letters in the alphabet; in astronomy, they are the first and second brightest stars in a constellation. For Indiana University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, they represent the A's and B's necessary to earn a 3.0 grade point average.

    An asterisk denotes a 3.5 GPA or better.

    * Nicole Hein - Exploratory
    * Laura McGaffigan - Marketing-Distribution Management
    *Cecile Perton - Spanish
    Brianna Williams - Exploratory
