BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's tennis team will begin Big Ten play this weekend as it heads to West Lafayette to battle No. 21 Purdue. The match will take place on Saturday, March 9, at 11 a.m. ET.

The Boilermakers sit at 6-1 on the season and have defeated four ranked opponents already this year. Purdue, the defending Big Ten champion, has won five matches in a row coming into the weekend.

Indiana (10-3) is coming off a double-header sweep of then-No. 66 DePaul and UNC-Wilmington last week in Bloomington. IU hopes to end a two-match skid against the Boilers as Purdue has had the upper hand in each of the last two seasons.

IU's Sophie Garre and Leslie Hureau continue to be ranked nationally in the ITA Double Rankings coming into this weekend's match. Garre and Hureau rank No. 44 nationally.

After facing Purdue, the Hoosiers will head to Las Vegas, Nev., for a week of training and then will take on No. 2 Duke while there on March 15.
