Hoosiers Travel to South Florida

The Bulls come into the match with the Hoosiers after having a four-match winning streak snapped. South Florida carries a 6-8 record into Saturdays match.
The Bulls and the Hoosiers have one common opponent in Marquette. Indiana downed Marquette, 4-3, while South Florida lost to Marquette, 6-1.
The Hoosiers have compiled an 8-7 mark this season. Of the Hoosiers seven losses, all of them have come to ranked opponents.
The loses to ranked opponents include No. 4 Duke (7-0), No. 14 Wake Forest (6-1), No. 30 Kentucky (7-0), No. 33 Wisconsin (5-2), No. 11 Northwestern (7-0), No. 11 Tennessee (7-0) and No. 75 DePaul (5-2).
The schedule does not easier for the Hoosiers as they still look to face seven ranked opponents over their final 12 matches.
Indianas Last Time Out
The Hoosiers ran their winning streak to three matches with a pair of wins last weekend. Indiana downed Bowling Green, 6-1, and Cincinnati, 4-3.
Indiana had to forfeit two spots, one in doubles and one in singles, due to injuries. The Hoosiers were able to overcome those set backs to pick up wins.
Despite having to forfeit the No. 3 doubles spot, IU was able to claim the doubles point by winning the top two spots. Freshman Sarah Batty and junior Martina Grimm teamed to win at both matches at No. 1 singles. Junior Linda Tran and sophomore Dominika Walterova paired to win both matches at No. 2 doubles. Tran, Grimm and Walterova all went 2-0 at the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 singles spots.
The Hoosiers have won the doubles point in the last three matches. In the last two matches against Bowling Green and Cincinnati, the Hoosiers had to forfeit the No. 3 doubles point due to injuries. In doing so, Indiana had to win both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spots.
Freshman Sarah Batty and junior Martina Grimm won at No. 1 doubles against Bowling Green and Cincinnati, while junior Linda Tran and sophomore Dominika Walterova won both at No. 2. Claiming the doubles point in both matches allowed the Hoosiers to claim the team victory in both matches.
Batty and Grimm have won their last four matches, all at the No. 1 spot. They have upped their overall record to 15-7 this season. The doubles team of Tran and Walterova has won their last six matches after losing their first match as a team. They are 6-1 this season.
Filling in When Needed
Freshman Sarah Batty and junior Martina Grimm have filled in nicely for the Hoosiers this season. With No. 1 singles and doubles player Linda Tran out due to sickness on March 1. Batty and Grimm had to step up to No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively as well as No. 1 doubles as a team.
Against DePaul, Batty won a hard fought three set win at No. 1 singles, while Grimm dropped a tough three set match. In the next match against Butler, each of them cruised through their opponent in helping the Hoosiers snap a five match losing streak. Batty is 14-12 this season, while Grimm is 17-10.
Batty and Grimm also teamed up and played No. 1 doubles on March 1st. They picked up wins over DePaul and Butler. It isnt the first time the duo has had to fill in at No. 1 doubles.
