    No. 44 Hoosiers Fall To No. 11 Blue Devils 8-1

    Durham, N.C. - The women's tennis team dropped its fifth straight match with a loss to 11th-ranked Duke 8-1 today. The loss drops the Hoosiers record to 10-7 (3-2 Big Ten)

    The Hoosiers opened the day by winning one of the six singles matches. The Hoosiers win came at the No. 2 position as Amanda Field defeated Katie Granson 6-3,1-6,6-4. At No. 1, Jessica Anderson lost her match to Kathy Sell 6-4,7-5. At No. 3, Ann Poosuthasee lost her match to Hillary Adams 6-2,6-0. Jennifer Hsia, playing at the No. 4 position, was defeated by Ioana Plesu 6-1,1-6,6-0. The matches at No. 5 and No. 6 were defaulted by the Hoosiers.

    Doubles followed the singles matches and it was more of the same for the Hoosiers. At No. 1, Jessica Anderson and Kelly Blanch lost to Erica Biro and Brooke Siebel 8-2. At No. 2, Hsia and Becky Wallihan were defeated Adams and Miller 8-6. At No. 3, Field and Poosuthasee lost their match to Granson and Sell 8-2.

    The Hoosiers will return to Big Ten play next weekend with home matches against Michigan State and Michigan. They will face Michigan State on Saturday at 10 a.m. and then will play Michigan on Sunday at 10 a.m.
