    Hoosiers Face Big Ten Opponents This Weekend

    On Tap: The Hoosiers (7-9 overall, 2-2 Big Ten) will resume their Big Ten this weekend with two away matches. On Saturday, they travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan for a match against the University of Michigan. On Sunday, they will face Michigan State in East Lansing, Michigan. Both games will start at noon. The Hoosiers split two matches with Michigan last year. They lost to them in the regular season 4-3, then defeated them to win the Big Ten tournament 4-0.

    Last Match: The Hoosiers lost to two top 20 teams last weekend. They were shut out by #18 Kentucky 8-0 on Saturday. They then dropped a match to #12 Tennessee 7-2 on Sunday.

    Anderson's Milestones: Jessica Anderson has reached 20 wins this year in both singles and doubles. She currently has 22 singles wins and 23 wins in doubles. Anderson needs just one more singles win to reach 80 for her career. In doubles, she needs just two more wins for 60.

    20 Win Seasons: Besides Anderson, two other Hoosiers have picked up 20 wins in doubles. Zahra Ahamed has 21, while freshman Amanda Field has 20.

    Junior Play: Without a senior on the team this year, the Hoosiers have relied on leadership from their three juniors; Ahamed, Anderson and Becky Wallihan. Anderson leads the team in singles with an 22-9 overall record (9-6 in dual). Anderson is also the team leader with a 23-8 doubles record (10-4 in dual). Ahamed has bounced back from a tough start to the year, posting a 8-8 record in dual matches (14-16 overall) and a 12-3 dual doubles record (21-9 overall). Becky Wallihan, injured for the fall season, has posted a 5-9 doubles record.

    Potpourri: Field has been impressive in dual matches this spring posting a 8-7 record and is now 15-11 in singles for the year......Ana Ceretto has posted a 19-11 singles record and a 17-7 doubles record.

    Head Coach Lin Loring...is entering his 22nd season as the Head Coach of the Hoosiers Women's Tennis team. In his 21 seasons, he has compiled a remarkable overall record of 526-135, while accumulating a 252-24 record against Big Ten opponents. The 4 time Big Ten Coach-of-the-Year and the 2 time National Coach-of -the-Year, has compiled a 568-152 overall record in his 26-year coaching career. Prior to Indiana, coach Loring had a 4 year stint as head coach at UC-Santa Barbara.

    On The Horizon: The Hoosiers will be home for three matches next weekend. On Thursday, they will face Notre Dame in Bloomington at 3 p.m. They will then face two Big Ten teams. They will face Illinois on April 17 at 11 a.m. and then Northwestern on April 18 at 10 a.m.
