    Hoosiers Lose To Illinois 5-2

    Bloomington, IN-The #65 Hoosiers (9-11, 4-3 Big Ten) lost their second consecutive match today with a loss to #51 Illinois 5-2 (9-9, 4-3 Big Ten).

    The Hoosiers fell behind early by losing the doubles point. The Hoosiers won the first completed match as Jessica Anderson and Amanda Field defeated Natalie Manasova and Allison Gottlieb 8-1, at No. 3. The Hoosiers could not continue the momentum as they were unable to pick up a win the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.

    The women picked up two wins in the six singles matches today. At No. 1, Jessica Anderson defeated Simone Kung 6-2,6-1. Ana Ceretto picked up a victory at the No. 5 position when Megan Wise was forced to retire because of an injury. The score at the time the match was stopped was 6-7,6-3,ret.

    The Hoosiers will try and gain some momentum into the final weekend of the regular season with a match tomorrow against Northwestern. The match tomorrow will begin at 10 a.m.
