Champaign, Ill.- The Indiana women's tennis team fell to No. 26 Illinois 7-0 Saturday afternoon. The Hoosiers are now 9-15 on the season and 1-8 in the Big Ten.
Indiana's only win of the day caem at the No. 2 doubles position. Martina Grimm and Sarah Batty downed Tiffany Eklov and Eldina Fazlic, 8-6. The victory was the Hoosier tandems 20th of the season as they improved to 5-4 in the Big Ten.
Injuries once again caught up to the Hoosiers in singles as Indiana was forced to forfeit the No. 6 position with Grimm and sophomore Dominika Walterova missing the singles with injury. Illinois was able to sweep the first five positions.
The Hoosiers will return to action tomorrow when they travel to West Lafayette to battle the Boilermakers of Purdue. The match is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. The winner will give its school a one-point lead in the Titan Series, which is currently tied at 6.5 points apiece.
