Hureau, Klyczek Earn First Team All-Big Ten Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana women's tennis players Leslie Hureau and Katie Klyczek were named to the 2013 First Team All-Big Ten team by the conference coaches. The announcement was made Thursday night at the Big Ten Women's Tennis Tournament banquet. Hureau was also named IU's Sportsmanship Award honoree.
Hureau earns her fourth-consecutive First Team All-Big Ten nod as a senior. She is the seventh player in program history to earn first team all-conference laurels during in each of her four years at Indiana and the first since 1994 to achieve that distinction. Hureau currently holds a 24-12 singles mark on the season and went 7-4 in Big Ten matches this season all while playing in the No. 1 position.
The Annecy-le-Vieux, France, native has won five consecutive matches and six of her last seven overall. Hureau defeated seven ranked players during 2012-13 and is currently ranked No. 110 in the latest ITA Women's National Singles Rankings.
Klyczek earns the first All-Big Ten recognition of her career as a sophomore. The Munster, Ind., native holds a 21-13 singles record for the year playing mostly in the No. 2 spot in IU's lineup. She has defeated two ranked opponents on the year with both of those wins coming at crucial times during Indiana victories over then-No. 2 Duke (March 15) and then-No. 10 Michigan (March 31). Klyczek sits at No. 103 in the latest national singles rankings.
The sixth-seeded Hoosiers continue play in the Big Ten Tournament on Friday afternoon against third-seeded Northwestern at 2 p.m. ET. All matches are being played at the IU Varsity Tennis Center.
