Inga Radel was named Big Ten Women's Tennis Player-of-the-Month for April.
Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana freshman Inga Radel was selected Big Ten Player-of-the-Month for her performance in the month of April.
The Gheesthacht, Germany native currently has a singles record of 29-3 after the Big Ten tournament, including being a perfect 12-0 in Big Ten matches. In the Big Ten tournament, Radel played both her matches at No. 1 singles and came away victories in straight sets on both occasions. Radel has won her last 16 matches, and she owns a record of 24-1 during the spring season.
During the month of April, Radel made her first appearance in the Omni Hotels Collegiate Singles Rankings at No. 122 on April 17th. In an April 14th match against Ohio State, Radel upset then No. 63 ranked Erica Fisk in straight sets.
She has also teamed with fellow freshman Dominika Walterova over the last month to amass a doubles record of 7-2 overall and 6-2 in conference matches. Radel's overall doubles record stands at 23-8.
