Ann Arbor, Mich. - The women's tennis team was eliminated from the Big Ten Championships by 3rd-seeded Northwestern 4-0 on Friday.
The 44th-ranked Hoosiers fell behind 1-0 after dropping the first two doubles matches. At No. 2, Jessica Levin and Becky Wallihan lost to Lia Jackson and Marine Piriou 8-3. At No. 3, Zahra Ahamed and Jennifer Hsia lost to Shannon Duffy and Weinraub 8-3.
The dropped the first three matches in singles for the loss. At No. 2, Kelly Blanch was defeated by Duffy 6-1,6-0. At No. 3, Levin lost to Collen Cheng 6-1,6-2. At No. 4, Amanda Field dropped her match to Jackson 6-1,6-2.
This match ends the Hoosiers season with a record of 14-11 and they will now wait to find out about the NCAA tournament.
