July 26, 2010
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The men's singles main draw finals wrapped up the ITA Summer Circuit Bloomington leg late Monday afternoon with Indiana University's Josh MacTaggart reigning supreme and snagging the individual title.
MacTaggart played in the doubles championship match as well, teaming with fellow Hoosier Santiago Gruter for four wins and a runner-up finish. In singles play, MacTaggart collected six wins over the three-day competition, coming to a crescendo with his 7-5, 7-1 besting of Michigan State's Denis Bogatov in the finals.
Incoming freshman Kayla Fujimoto also competed in the event, opening the tournament with back-to-back straight-set victories before bowing out in the third round of the women's singles draw.
The eyes of the college tennis world will return to Bloomington in two weeks as the ITA Summer Circuit comes to an end with the ITA National Summer Championships from Aug. 7-11.
