Day One of ITA Summer Circuit Complete

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The first day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Summer Circuit wrapped up on Saturday evening. The updated main singles draw for men and women can be found below. The consolation singles bracket will be available late Saturday night or first thing Sunday morning. The doubles draws will be release on Sunday around 12 p.m. ET. Check back to this page for those updates.
The large contingent of IU tennis players representing the Hoosiers in both the men's and women's draw faired well overall on the first day of the tournament.
Katie Klyzcek got a first round bye as the number two seed and then won her next two matches to move into the fourth round on Sunday. Carolyn Chupa also had a first round bye and then won her next two matches to move into the fourth round of the main women's draw. Alicia Kauss will also be in the fourth round of the women's main draw after logging a pair of victories on Saturday.
Kayle Fujimoto won her first round match as well as her second round match before falling in the third round. Gabrielle Rubenstein claimed a win in her first round match but lost in the second round. And incoming freshman Mary Beth King won her first match but then lost in the second round as well.
On the men's side, Dimitrije Tasic, the No. 1 seed in the tournament, cruised into the fourth round with a pair of wins on Saturday, along with Dan Bednarczyk as the No. 2 seed. Elliot Yee, the No. 6 seed, won both of his matches on Saturday as well to give the fourth round a big IU flavor.
Jacob Rother won all three of his matches on Saturday to join Tasic, Bednarczyk and Yee in the fourth round.
Chris Essick was the No. 4 seed in the tournament and won his first round match but fell in his second round matchup.
Alek Davila and George Rivers both lost their first round matchup and dropped into the consolation bracket.
