The large contingent of IU tennis players representing the Hoosiers in both the men's and women's draw faired well overall on the first day of the tournament.

Katie Klyzcek got a first round bye as the number two seed and then won her next two matches to move into the fourth round on Sunday. Carolyn Chupa also had a first round bye and then won her next two matches to move into the fourth round of the main women's draw. Gabrielle Rubenstein claimed a win in her first round match but lost in the second round. And incoming freshman Mary Beth King won her first match but then lost in the second round as well.

On the men's side, Dimitrije Tasic, the No. 1 seed in the tournament, cruised into the fourth round with a pair of wins on Saturday, along with Dan Bednarczyk as the No. 2 seed. Elliot Yee, the No. 6 seed, won both of his matches on Saturday as well to give the fourth round a big IU flavor.

Jacob Rother won all three of his matches on Saturday to join Tasic, Bednarczyk and Yee in the fourth round.

Chris Essick was the No. 4 seed in the tournament and won his first round match but fell in his second round matchup.
