Bloomington, Ind.- The Indiana women's doubles pair of senior Karie Schlukeibr and junior Linda Tran advanced to the finals of the ITA National Summer Championships. The duo defeated Iowa's Cassie Haas and William and Mary's Nina Kamp in the semifinals, 8-4.
Schlukebir and Tran will face Jennifer McGaffigan of Illinois and Kathleen McGaffigan of Wisconsin for the title at the conclusion of the women's main draw finals. The winner of the finals will earn an automatic birth into the main draw of the All-American, while the loser will get a stop in the qualifying bracket.
In the mixed doubles competition, Tran teamed with Trey Johnson of Florida to defeat Schlukebir and Florida's Chris McDonald for the titled. Tran and Johnson won by a score of 8-6.
The women's and men's main draw finals and the men's and women's doubles finals will be played tomorrow at the Indiana Tennis Courts. Action is set to begin at 9:00 am with the singles finals and then concluded with the doubles event.
