BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana tennis player junior Sarah Batty, along with her partner New Mexico State's Danilo Zivanovic, captured the mixed doubles title at the Intercollegiate National Summer Championships.

The tandem defeated UCLA's Elizabeth Lumpkin and Cal Lutheran's Quinn Calderon 8-5 in the final at the Varsity Tennis Center on the campus of Indiana University.

The duo defeated Kendall Cline of North Carolina and Northwestern’s Jamie Friedland in the semifinals 8-4 to advance to the finals. Batty and Zivanovic downed Catherine Cochrane of Santa Clara and Nathan Cochrane of Arizona in the first round by the score of 8-1.

The ITA National Summer Championships, presented by the United States Tennis Association (USTA), are the pinnacle of the ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit, which was played at 20 regional sites throughout the country last month. Over 15,000 men and women have competed in circuit events since it began in 1993. This is the 10th anniversary of the national championships, which were added to the circuit in '94.
