    Women's Tennis Releases 2007-08 Schedule

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University women's tennis team will play a very competitive schedule once again during the 2007-08 season. Both the conference and non-conference schedule are tough and filled with nationally-ranked teams.

    The Hoosiers, coming off an '06-'07 season that included a win in the NCAA Tournament, a 21-7 overall record and 9-1 mark in the Big Ten, will begin the this season down south at the Wake Forest Invitational from Sept. 21-23.

    Indiana returns home to start the October slate with the Hoosier Classic from Oct. 5-7. Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State and Western Michigan are the other squads participating in the Hoosiers home tournament. A flight out to California is next for the Hoosiers, competing in the ITA All-American Championships from Oct. 11-14. The following weekend will be spent at the Vanderbilt Invitational from Oct. 20-22.

    Head Coach Lin Loring's team caps off the fall schedule on Nov. 2-4 at the Western Michigan Duals.

    Indiana will host the first competition of the spring schedule, welcoming Ball State, Bowling Green, Indiana State and Southern Illinois to Bloomington for the Indiana Doubles Invitational on Jan. 12-13.

    The Crimson and Cream begin a long run of dual play on Jan. 20 with two home matches against Western Michigan and Miami (OH). From Jan. 27-Mar. 1 the Hoosiers are slated to take on Ball State, Butler, DePaul, Duke, Kentucky, Marquette, Tennessee, Xavier and two teams yet to be determined in dual matches.

    A conference match at Ohio State on Mar. 8 marks the beginning of Big Ten play. Next up for the Hoosiers is non-conference action at the Florida International Invitational (Mar. 10-12) and a dual match at Maryland (Mar. 15) before jumping back into conference play. Indiana will spend the remainder of the regular season playing Big Ten opponents up until the Big Ten Championships from Apr. 24-27, which will be held at Purdue.
