    Doubles Finish Final Day of Invitational

    Bloomington, IN--The Hoosiers wrapped up their annual Indiana Fall Invitational today with the final two rounds of doubles competition. The tournament involved Ball State, Kansas, Marquette, Miami (OH), and Southern Illinois, along with the Hoosiers. The Hoosier women finished in 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place in the doubles action.

    Senior Kelly Fitzgerald and Freshmen Karie Schlukebir, advanced to the finals of the flight, first defeating Monica Sekulov and Christi Wagenaar of Kansas 8-5, before losing to Pamela Floro and Simona Petrutiu of Southern Illinois 8-3. Third place went to the team of Sophomores Ana Ceretto and Jennifer Hsia. They lost their semifinal match to Floro and Petrutiu of Southern Illinois 8-3, but bounced back in the third-place game to defeat Sekulov and Wagenaar of Kansas 8-6. Freshmen Amanda Field and Junior Jessica Anderson, bounced back from a loss yesterday, to sweep both matches today and finish in fifth-place. They started the day by defeating the top-seed from Kansas Cheryl Mallaiah and Kris Sell 8-4, and then went on to defeat Marquette's Laura Garcia and Julia Sapozhnikova 8-4.

    Junior Zahra Ahamed and FreshmenAnn Poosuthasee also competed in doubles action, but lost both matches. First to Natalie Adams and Elin Bengtsson of Miami (OH) 8-6, and then to Natalia Soetrisno and Carolina Stevens of Miami (OH) 8-3.
