    HOOSIERS TRAVEL TO ATLANTA TO TAKE PART IN GEORGIA TECH INVITATIONAL

    ON TAP...The Hoosiers will travel for the first time this year, as they will play at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend. The tournament will begin on Friday and last until Sunday, and feature players from Baylor, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Mississippi State, Rice and Wisconsin.

    LAST WEEK...Indiana hosted their annual Hoosier Classic Invitational last weekend against players for Bowling Green State, Kansas State, Middle Tennessee State and Ohio State. Senior Becky Wallihan took the Round Robin "A" Flight, while Senior Jessica Anderson and junior Kelly Blanch reached the finals against each other in Flight 1 singles. Anderson and Blanch also took the lone doubles flight on Sunday with an 8-2 victory over Monica Rincon and Claudia Castro of Ohio State.

    GOOD STARTS...Senior Jessica Anderson and Junior Kelly Blanch are both off to 5-0 starts in singles for the year. At the Indiana Fall Classic, Anderson took Flight 1, while Blanch took Flight 3. The both reached the finals of the Hoosier Classic Invitational in Flight 1, but did not play the match. As a doubles team, they are 4-0 with a Flight win at the Hoosier Classic Invitational.

    DEBUTS...Freshman Jessica "J.J. Levin made her Indiana debut at the Indiana Fall Invitational in September by going 2-1, losing in the finals of Flight 5. After the first two tournaments, she stands 4-2 in singles...Sophomore Amanda Field made her season debut at the Hoosier Classic with a 2nd-place finish in Flight 3 singles. In doubles, she paired with Levin and they 3-1 with a 3rd-Place finish.

    POTPOURRI...Wallihan is off to a fast start in singles. After playing in only one match a year ago, she is already 5-1 this year, placing 1st and 3rd in the two tournament...Red-shirt freshman Karie Schlukebir has made an outstanding comeback so far. After missing most of the dual season due to illness last year, so has posted a 4-2 singles record...Senior Zahra Ahamed and Schlukebir were reunited as a doubles team. After going 5-0 last year, they finished the Hoosier Classic with a 3-1 record...Jennifer Hsia has played well so far this year going 5-1 in singles. She picked up Flight 6 at the Indiana Fall Classic.

    HEAD COACH LIN LORING...is in his 23rd season as the Head Coach of the Hoosiers women's tennis team. In his 22 season's he has compiled a remarkable overall record of 531-145, while accumulating a 257-30 record against Big Ten opponents. The four-time Big Ten Coach-of-the-Year and two-time National Coach-of-the-Year, has compiled an 573-162 overall record in his 26 year coaching career. Prior to Indiana, coach Loring spent four years as the Head Coach of UC-Santa Barbara.
