    Hoosier Doubles Shine

    East Lansing, Mich. - It was business as usual for the Indiana women's tennis doubles team of Karie Schlukebir and Linda Tran at the ITA/Omni Hotels Midwest Regional Championships hosted by Michigan State on Friday.

    The top seed in the tournament, Schlukebir and Tran won both their matches. The duo claimed an 8-2 win over Ohio State's Lindsay Adams and Taryn Bowen, then came back to hand Notre Dame's Lauren Connelly and Alicia Salas a 9-7 defeat.

    Schlukebir and Tran face DePaul's Szilvia Keleman and Marina Parashkevova in the round of 16.

    In addition to the success of Schlukebir and Tran, Martina Grimm and Sarah Batty also claimed two wins, defeating Ball State's Melissa Roach and Jill Wieman, 8-5 and Michigan State's Caroline Lay and Dora Vastag, 8-6.

    In doubles action for other Hoosiers, Dominika Walterova and Sophie Rychlik suffered an 8-3 setback to Michigan State's Thomas and Liden, then were eliminated after losing to Wisconsin's McElroy and Vojnov, 8-6.
