Hoosiers to Compete in WMU Super Challenge

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University women's tennis team concludes the fall portion of its 2010-11 season this weekend, Nov. 5-7, heading to Kalamazoo, Mich., for the 2010 WMU Super Challenge. Joining the Hoosiers will be student-athletes from DePaul, Iowa State, Louisville, Penn State, Western Michigan and Wisconsin.
Each of the programs will participate in both singles and doubles competition. A point system will be utilized to crown individual champions in singles and doubles play, based on the weekend's results. Points will be awarded 8 through 1, with a No. 1 singles/doubles win earning eight points, descending downward to a No. 8 win worth one point. Match tiebreakers will be played for third sets. Action begins at 10:30 a.m. on Friday with two rounds of doubles and one round of singles starting at 2 p.m. Saturday's play starts at 10:30 a.m. with round of doubles and a round of singles at 12:30 p.m. Finally, the tournament concludes with a final round of singles on Sunday starting at 9 a.m.
Sophomore Leslie Hureau, ranked 93rd nationally in singles, remains undefeated on the season. She has nabbed two singles flight titles and 6-0 record thus far during the fall campaign. Senior Katya Zapadalova also owns an unblemished singles mark, winning all three matches at the Hoosier Classic before sitting out the KU Invitational due to injury.
