    Anderson and Field Begin ITA Championships

    South Bend, Ind.-Junior Jessica Anderson and freshman Amanda Field began play today in the ITA Midwest Region Singles and Doubles Championships. The championships, which are taking place at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana, include top players from schools in the Midwest region.

    Anderson and Field both competed in singles action today against opponents who were ranked. Anderson lost her match to Ohio State's Kristy Driscoli 6-0,6-3. Field was topped by Marquette's Ana Fernandez 6-2,6-2.

    Anderson and Field will both compete in the consolation draw tomorrow. Anderson will open her day up against Detroit's Maria Pandele. Field will continue play, as She faces Iowa's Erica Johnson.

    Besides the ITA Championships tomorrow, the rest of the Hoosier women will be competing in the Hoosier Fall Invitational. Play begins tomorrow at the Outdoor Courts at 10 A.M. with doubles play. Two rounds of singles will follow starting at 1:30 P.M.
