Two Hoosier Doubles Successful in First Day of WMU Fall Classic

Kalamazoo, Mich. The Indiana womens tennis team was successful in the first day of the Western Michigan University Fall Classic as the duos of Sarah Batty and Laura McGaffigan and Karie Schlukebir and Linda Tran each won both of their doubles matches.
Batty/McGaffigan defeated Hiranrat/Remynse of Western Mich., 8-2 and then battled Suurvarik/Miller of Illinois State, and earned an, 8-4, victory.
Schlukebir and Tran earned their first victory of the day after defeating Girsang/Parekh of Western Michigan, 9-7 and later earned an , 8-2, win over Vingier/Maxwell of Illinois State.
In other doubles action, the tandem of Dora Vastag and Martina Grimm fell to Stoilova/Jeanmaire of Western Michigan, 8-5.
On the single matches end, Kara Zeder was the only Hoosier that participated in the singles. She was defeated by Leung of DePaul, 8-3. Zeder is set to face Simovic of Illinois State next. Time of that match is TBA.
