    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior Lorian Price won two events to lead Indiana as the men's and women's track and field teams opened their seasons at the Indiana Open on Jan. 6.

    Price finished first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.67 and won the long jump with a distance of 5.67 meters. She also finished third in the 200-meter dash in 25.65. Finishing behind Price in the hurdles was senior Courtney Johnson, who ran a 8.73.

    Senior Stacey Clausing was also a strong performer for the women. She won the 200-meter dash in 24.02, and led the 4x400-meter relay team to a first-place finish with a time of 3.54.93. Clausing also finished third in the 60-meter dash, leading all Indiana runners with a time of 7.65.

    In addition to Clausing, sophomore Audrey Smoot, senior Michelle Huber and junior Zakiya Robinson rounded out the 4x400 relay team. Robinson finished second in the long jump with a distance of 5.59 meters.

    Sophomore Caitlin Lauer won the 600-meter dash for the Hoosiers in 1:35.25, while Smoot was second in 1:36.78. Freshman Jackie Coleman had a strong showing in her first meet, finishing first in the triple jump (11.29 meters) and third in the long jump (5.36 meters).

    Freshmen Vera Neuenswander and Laura Williams finished one-two in the pole vault. Neuenswander cleared 3.55 meters, while Williams finished at 3.45 meters.

    Indiana hosts the Indiana Open II, held Saturday, Jan. 13, in Gladstein Fieldhouse in its next meet. Events begin at noon.
