Price, Perry Earn Provisional Qualifying Marks in Women's Long Jump

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Indiana women's track and field athletes Lorian Price and Candace Perry earned NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the women's long jump in the opening day of Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invitation on March 3.
Price took third in the long jump after shattering her previous personal best with a leap of 6.19m (20-03.75) en route to becoming the third Hoosier female to earn an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. The provisional mark in the long jump is 6.10m.
With a personal best jump of 6.11m (20-00.50), Candace Perry earned the Hoosier women's fourth provisional qualifying mark and a fourth-place finish in the long jump.
Indiana's Mark Fruin ran in the 5,000m. Fruin took 13th place with a time of 15:10.39.
The Alex Wilson Invitational picks up again on Saturday, March 04, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in South Bend, Ind.
