FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- Freshman Vera Neuenswander finished 12th in the pole vault at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, on Saturday, March 10.

Neuenswander, who was competing in her first NCAA Championships, cleared 4.00 meters in the pole vault. She was the top freshman in the event. Her best clearance this year was 4.11 meters, which earned her second-place at the Big Ten Championships and broke the school and Big Ten meet records.

"Things have really clicked for Vera at the end of the year," assistant coach Jake Wiseman said. "To come down here and be competitive has been a great experience for her. We are looking for nothing but good things for the future."

Indiana begins the outdoor season on March 30 at the Stanford Invitational.
